Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about implementation, onboarding, billing, support, and privacy.

How does MemberTap work?

MemberTap gives your team one place for connect cards, passes, tap locations, engagement insights, and follow-up workflows so staff and volunteers can help people take next steps.

Is MemberTap backed by science?

MemberTap is built on research-backed principles of habit formation, timely prompts, visible progress, and belonging. We do not claim MemberTap is scientifically proven to grow a church; the product is designed around well-supported principles that can help churches build healthier engagement rhythms.

Why focus on the first 90 days?

Habits and belonging take time. Research on habit formation shows that automaticity develops gradually, which is why MemberTap helps churches think beyond one Sunday and build a repeatable journey from first visit to belonging.

Do we need a separate mobile app?

No. Your team can use MemberTap directly from a browser on desktop, tablet, or phone. Participants can use Apple Wallet or a personal QR code without downloading a separate app.

How long does setup take?

Most churches can launch quickly with a connect card, church hub, QR code, and basic follow-up flow. You can add groups, tap locations, and milestones as your team is ready.

Can we migrate existing member data?

Yes. MemberTap can support importing core member records and mapping fields to your church’s engagement and follow-up workflows.

Where can we review terms and privacy details?

You can view all legal documents in the Legal Center, including Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

How is pricing handled for additional campuses?

Multi-campus support is available as an add-on for Growth/Pro and included in Scale plans.

Do we have a contract, and can we export data if we leave?

Plans are monthly unless otherwise agreed, and churches can export their church engagement data on request.

Who owns member data and prayer requests?

Your church owns its data. MemberTap processes data as your service provider to support connection, follow-up, and church engagement workflows.

What about guests without smartphones?

Teams can use QR fallback, kiosk check-in, or volunteer-assisted manual lookup.

Do you integrate with Planning Center, Breeze, Rock, or Tithe.ly?

Integration roadmap includes major ChMS platforms; ask during demo for current connector status.

What security controls do you have?

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with role-based admin access and audit logging.
